Painted Puppies (or other fun things)

Here is a fun rainy day activity that requires paper, pencil, scrap of wood, mod podge glue, paints, paint brushes, glass of water and some creativity.

1. First get a piece of wood you want to  use and paint it a solid background color of your choice. Put it aside until it is dry.

2. Decide what you want to paint and sketch it out on some paper. This allows you to erase, change and fix things as you go until you get it just the way you want it. Outline sketch with a Shaprie.

3. Cut the image out completely leaving no background and glue your image onto the block of wood. Let it dry completely.

4. Now get all you paints, glass of water and paint brushes together at your work area covered with newspaper or a trash bag. Have fun painting your image. I use a Sharpie to outline the image again and some lines within it.

5. When the paint is completely dry, paint over the entire wood block with mod podge (or use acrylic sealer from a craft store) to create a nice, even finish.

6. Hang it in a spot where everyone can enjoy it when it is dry!
